HPHT (High-Pressure High-Temperature) diamonds grow in hydraulic presses that replicate natural underground diamond conditions. Diamond seeds, graphite carbon and metallic flux are sealed in capsules, heated to 1300–1600°C under 5–7 GPa intense pressure for days. Carbon dissolves in melted flux and crystallizes gradually on seeds to generate rough stones. Most HPHT diamonds have minor metal inclusions and slight yellow tints caused by nitrogen elements.

As one of the largest HPHT lab grown diamond manufacturers in Henan and even worldwide, we boast a monthly capacity of 600,000 carats of rough diamonds and 300,000 carats HPHT loose diamonds. Better Star’s HPHT diamonds are ethically sourced and sustainably produced.

CVD (Chemical Vapor Deposition) produces gem-quality lab-grown diamonds in vacuum reactors. A diamond seed is placed inside the chamber, filled with methane and hydrogen. Microwaves heat the space to 800–1200°C, turning gases into plasma that releases carbon atoms. Over 2–4 weeks, carbon deposits onto the seed to form rough diamonds; hydrogen removes graphite contaminants for pure crystal blanks for cutting.

Chemically, optically and physically identical to natural diamonds, CVD stones receive IGI or GIA certifications. Mostly Type IIa nitrogen-free diamonds, they feature vivid white and fancy colors with minimal flaws. Unlike HPHT, CVD creates no metallic inclusions, yielding larger, cleaner stones perfect for high-end fine jewelry globally.

Rough HPHT and CVD lab grown diamonds contain substantial impurities and poor optical reflection refraction performance, so they cannot be directly processed into fine jewelry. Every rough diamond goes through CT scanning to map its shape and crystal structure, before we work out the optimal cutting plan. Better Star also offers custom‑cut services to produce diamonds in your desired shapes.
